The Classic Vocal Group

Jay and the Americans generated a string of hit records in the 1960s and were in-demand as both a standalone vocal group and a backup to artists including Johnny Mathis and others. They also famously hired a young Donald Fagen and Walter Becker as members of their backing band, long before they founded Steely Dan. Having shared concert bills with giants ranging from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones to The Supremes and James Brown, the band remains a nostalgic part of American pop music history.
