A Rocking Revival Of Hedwig & The Angry Inch
When Hedwig and the Angry Inch debuted off-Broadway in 1998, the gendre-bending rock and roll musical was an immediate cult success. After a two year run, it broke into the mainstream on the West End and Broadway, garnering four Tonys when Neil Patrick Harris stepped into Hedwig's golden go-go boots and immortalised the role. Now the John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask penned production comes to Florida's Key West Theatre for a rocking revival this Winter.
A bold, no-holds-barred exploration of gender identity whilst challenging the concept that rock music is separate to the art of theatre, the story follows the misadventures of Hedwig, born male but victim of a botched gender reassignment surgery. During a tour of the US with her band, her tragic story of finding love and fane in all the wrong places unfolds as she converses with her audiences.
